Beach Club: Chez Jo

Chez Jo is definitely only for connoisseurs in Saint Tropez. You leave the usual Pampelonne beach and embark on a wild journey to one of the most authentic beach restaurants - so not BEACH CLUB. Chez Jo is around 45 minutes from St Tropez in Lavandou. The trip is worthwhile for anyone who likes to see the original. Important to know: Chez Jo is wild, raw, simple and sooooo hard to get a table!!! So for all brave ones, reserve in time. Furnishings: At Chez Jo you sit on plastic chairs at plastic tables on a concrete buoy. It's tight, warm and crowded. But the ambiance, vibe and fun is authentic and quintessentially French. Did I mention that you have to climb down a steep coastal path first? Ambience: This is how I imagine the beach restaurants of the 70s. You're not even sitting down and chatting with your neighbors at the table. You know most of the guests around you until the main course. You push umbrellas together, laugh and, as is normal in France, you debate all sorts of things. Restaurant: Menu: There are various fish from the grill. There are also potatoes and vegetables. IMPORTANT: Crawfish (the best) must be ordered when reserving a table!!! Wine: Simple country wine - where it should be on a beach!!! Beach: Well, now it's getting a bit special.... Chez Jo is located in its own bay. There is no private beach area - but the whole bay is naturist. You have to know that most beaches in France used to be for nudists - so it doesn't get any more authentic than that!!!! Just be brave and enjoy the experience. ps: it's ok to keep your swimming trunks on yourself. Boutique: You've been looking for a long time..... There was nothing like that at Chez Jo then and now. Plage du Layet, 83980 Cavaliere Phone: 04 94 05 85 06 (The fact that there is no website is probably also self-explanatory...)
